A look back at the ACORD Implementation Forum

Last month’s ACORD Implementation Forum in Fort Lauderdale was a great gathering, one that Agencyport was proud to sponsor. This year’s event was attended by over 300 carriers, producers and vendors and encouraged the sharing of information and hands-on training to help implement ACORD standards accurately and efficiently.

Here’s a high level look at a couple of SESSIONS in which Agencyport was proud to participate:

Solutions Lab: Finding Even More Ways to Use ACORD

Allan Egbert, Agencyport CTO, and Mike Albert, VP of Research and Development, lead this session. It was the first public announcement of our new tool-based interoperability product, Connect5. Mike and Allan discussed how Connect5 uses the ACORD XML standard as a message model for agent and non-agent oriented systems integrations initiatives. In addition, a demo showcased Connect5’s many uses as single hub for integration, routing and orchestration.

Mike and Allan also delivered a demo outlining the ACORD Form layout as a user interface standard within Agencyport’s Turnstile solution.  Turnstile is a subscription carrier web service which ingests ACORD forms and returns ACORD XML for delivery to back end systems.

Basics of Implementation: The Technical Side

Agencyport Product Manager Ken O’Sullivan co-hosted this session with Kevin Kosienski, Enterprise Architect with MassMutual Financial Group. This discussion focused on standardization of connectivity between services and systems. The pros and cons of various solutions including AWSP and REST were discussed in detail. While everyone agreed that there are many ways to implement, using the ACORD standards is key.

Agencyport was also proud of a number of its customers who picked up ACORD Awards during the show. Using Agencyport’s AgencyConnect™, AgencyPortal™, and Connect5 solutions, our customers received the following recognition:

  • Early Adopter Award-AWSP for Chubb
  • Most Compelling Case Study Award and the Property & Casualty Outstanding Contribution Accomplishment Award for Concord Group Insurance
  • Most Compelling Case Study Award and the Property & Casualty Straight Through Processing of Data Award for Quincy Mutual Group

In addition, Agencyport received two company awards: Property & Casualty Outstanding Contribution Achievement and the Global and Large Commercial Outstanding Contribution Accomplishment.

And then, of course, there was the video.  Ah, the video… Watch what happens when a bunch of frustrated actors and directors posing as insurance technology experts get together to produce Agencyport’s version of the ACORD Minute for the forum’s General Session. Check it out here.

We hope all attendees had a great time during AIF. If you weren’t able to make it, feel free to email us at innovate@agencyport.com and we’ll gladly fill you in.
