Business Analyst Job Summary
AgencyPort business analysts work closely with our clients to define, frame and capture their business needs. - Analyze, define, and document business and functional requirements for projects
- Participate in or lead requirements sessions and activities with business and technical team members
- Support requirements understanding and issue resolution throughout the project life cycle
- Develop and execute comprehensive test plans based on business requirements and logical design specifications. Ensure adequate test coverage of all functional requirements
- Act as a liaison between business clients and developers during analysis, development, testing, and production support phases
- Analyze data needs to determine appropriate mapping to the ACORD schema
- Develop and modify XML files to support screen prototyping
- Occasional travel to client locations might be necessary
High level of competency in the following areas:
- 5-10 years professional work experience with strong experience in software development.
- Experience with web and e-commerce development.
- Business analyst experience as part of a consulting or professional services organization
- Demonstrated quantitative and qualitative analytic skills
- Ability to setup and conduct primary research with senior level clients
- Superior client interface and interviewing skills.
- Ability to develop detailed functional specifications in support of the Agency Port Product Line.
- Superior writing skills
- Superior presentation skills
- Experience working with cross-disciplinary functions
- Ability to develop and then present and sell materials and ideas to senior level clients
- Negotiation skills
- Time management skills
- Strong quality control and attention to details
- Basic PC skills including Microsoft Office tools, Visio, and Project
- Full software development life cycle (concept to deployment)
- Working both independently and as a part of a team
- Balancing priorities on simultaneous projects
- Interacting with individuals at all client organizational levels
- Insurance industry experience with exposure to property and casualty lines
- Familiarity with ACORD XML
- Experience or expertise in agile programming methodologies

Compensation
Employees will receive a competitive salary with benefits including performance-based bonus, 401(k) plan, and HMO. Pre-IPO stock options will be granted upon hiring and as incentives throughout the year. Contract employment will also be considered.
