Business Analyst Job Summary

AgencyPort business analysts work closely with our clients to define, frame and capture their business needs. Strong written and oral communication skills are as essential as analytical ability and core client relationship skills. Duties and Responsibilities

• Analyze, define, and document business and functional requirements for projects
• Participate in or lead requirements sessions and activities with business and technical team members
• Support requirements understanding and issue resolution throughout the project life cycle
• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans based on business requirements and logical design specifications. Ensure adequate test coverage of all functional requirements
• Act as a liaison between business clients and developers during analysis, development, testing, and production support phases
• Analyze data needs to determine appropriate mapping to the ACORD schema
• Develop and modify XML files to support screen prototyping
• Occasional travel to client locations might be necessary

Experience
High level of competency in the following areas:

• 5-10 years professional work experience with strong experience in software development.
• Experience with web and e-commerce development.
• Business analyst experience as part of a consulting or professional services organization
• Demonstrated quantitative and qualitative analytic skills
• Ability to setup and conduct primary research with senior level clients
• Superior client interface and interviewing skills.
• Ability to develop detailed functional specifications in support of the Agency Port Product Line.
• Superior writing skills
• Superior presentation skills
• Experience working with cross-disciplinary functions
• Ability to develop and then present and sell materials and ideas to senior level clients
• Negotiation skills
• Time management skills
• Strong quality control and attention to details
• Basic PC skills including Microsoft Office tools, Visio, and Project
• Full software development life cycle (concept to deployment)

Demonstrated abilities:

• Working both independently and as a part of a team
• Balancing priorities on simultaneous projects
• Interacting with individuals at all client organizational levels

Desirable, but not required:

• Insurance industry experience with exposure to property and casualty lines
• Familiarity with ACORD XML
• Experience or expertise in agile programming methodologies

Downtown Boston, MA

Compensation
Employees will receive a competitive salary with benefits including performance-based bonus, 401(k) plan, and HMO. Pre-IPO stock options will be granted upon hiring and as incentives throughout the year. Contract employment will also be considered.
